Kathryn is a creator and connector at heart, a builder and convener committed to strengthening the cultural infrastructure our moment demands — keeping human expression, creativity, and connection at the center of how we relate, learn, and work in a digital, AI-shaped world.
Over the past two decades, she has worked at the intersection of mental health, disability advocacy, youth development, and education. Her understanding of how and why systems fracture particularly for underserved and marginalized communities began forming early. Raised in proximity to state and federal disability and mental health policy through her father's role as a state-appointed official leading developmental disability services, she grew up in rooms with parent groups, policymakers, and funders, witnessing the possibilities for reimagining how systems might care for the whole human. Navigating her own mental health journey alongside learning disabilities further deepened her insight into how traditional education and care systems are structured and where they fall short in supporting diverse ways of learning, developing, and belonging.
She has held senior leadership roles in strategy, partnership development, and program design at organizations including the Child Mind Institute, Best Buddies International, Special Olympics Northern California, and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. More recently, as Managing Director of Life Calling, she created the concept behind Notes to Humanity, a campaign built on a single prompt: "What does it mean to preserve your humanity in the Digital Age?" that generated 3,000 handwritten responses across 15+ countries through in-person activations and exhibitions.
Kathryn is Senior Advisor, Coalition Building & Network Engagement for the AI Psychological Harms Research Coalition founded by Dr. Zachary Stein in collaboration with Dr. Mitch Prinstein and Tristan Harris of the Center for Humane Technology.
Alongside this work she is a Visiting Artistic & Research Fellow at Bath Spa University's School of Writing, Publishing and Humanities, where she is incubating Humanities for Expression, and also serves as a Fellow of the Global Philanthropy Forum, and a Trustee of House of Imagination, a UK-based charity.
